River Haven Update From the first day that River Haven Homeless Shelter opened it has been volunteers that have made the Shelter a haven for homeless people in Columbia County. Currently River Haven is in need of volunteers to fill all shifts. 6-10 a.m., 6 - 10 p.m. and over nights are the current shift hours and they are flexible if these precise hours do not work for you. Please call River Haven directly 742-7687 to let them or us know that you are willing to work. Prison Ministry Opportunity - The chaplain at Columbia County Correctional Institution recently called to ask if our congregation would be interested in offering worship services in the prison a couple of times a year. These would be on a Sunday evening at 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. and we would be able to determine the structure of the service. My guess is it the service would be similar to our Wednesday evening services. If you are interested in assisting with these services please contact Pastor Dick. Ways to help include music, reading, leading parts of the service, interacting with the inmates and worshipping with them.
