Lutheran Relief Coffee Project

Sponsored by Global Missions

Lutheran World Relief Coffee is available for your purchase.  This project ensures that more of the money you spend on coffee reaches the farmers who actually grow it.  Fair trade coffee is a simple solution that means the difference - quite literally - between surviving and not surviving for small - scale coffee farmers. Please help this worth while effort.

LOCAL MISSIONS

Can You Help? Habitat for Humanity of Sauk-Columba Area are in the planning stages of building 2 more homes for 2012.  They have received $55,000 from Thrivent Financial again this year to help build one of the homes. However, they still need $45,000 to finish that home and another $100,000 for the 2nd home plus they have some operating expenses. In total they need about $170,000 more for this coming year.  We are hoping the each family here at Bethlehem Lutheran will donate a “DOLLAR” a week (or a one-time donation of $52) that could be used for the Thrivent Builds program.  If you can help out this worthwhile program, just use a pew envelope and mark it "Habitat for Humanity" and place it in the offering plate.

Today's Real Estate Issues - Bethlehem will be offering an Adult Education Class, Sunday, February 12th at 9:15 on today's real estate issues. The class will be presented by Bonnie Dixon.  Bonnie is the 2012 President of the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin and has been in the real estate profession for more than 15 years.  She has earned many additional designations along the way and is currently a manager/coach for Stark Company Realtors in Sun Prairie.  She will be touching on issues such as current market conditions, real estate terms, should you buy or sell, short sales, and foreclosures.  She will also be presenting many resources that are available to assist with real estate issues today.  Plan to attend to learn more about the current real estate environment.  If you are unable to attend or would like to set up a confidential meeting with Bonnie, she may be contacted at 608-697-9579 or

Prison Ministry Opportunity - The chaplain at Columbia County Correctional Institution recently called to ask if our congregation would be interested in offering worship services in the prison a couple of times a year. These would be on a Sunday evening at 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. and we would be able to determine the structure of the service. My guess is it the service would be similar to our Wednesday evening services. If you are interested in assisting with these services please contact Pastor Dick. Ways to help include music, reading, leading parts of the service, interacting with the inmates and worshipping with them.
